The only place to get good Hawaiian comfort food in Seattle is at Kauai Family Restaurant in Sodo. I need my fix at least twice a year.
Lau lau and macaroni salad are my favorites. If you mix everything up on your plate, you simply can’t go wrong.
Cakes of Paradise is a simple cake shop adjacent to Kauai Family Restaurant. Paradise sells cakes and some Hawaiian favorites, like local macadamia nut shortbread cookies. Their namesake desserts are light, spongey sheet cakes with pudding-like frosting that are sold in their entirety or conveniently by slice (so, there’s not excuse not to try at least a few varieties).
Their rainbow cake is the best!
BLTA at Oddfellows.
Beautiful summer fruit bowl.
