I moved into the Capitol Hill/First Hill neighborhood the summer of 2009. In a short four years, the entire neighborhood has transformed into a cosmopolis for the young and the hip. Four years ago, the whole “scene” of Capitol Hill felt catered to a specific age and specific preference, but with restaurant and bar additions of the past few years, it is now home to most popular and frequented restaurants in Seattle. At any moment, people of all ages, affiliations and tastes walk the bustling streets of the hills. Lately, it seems like the entire neighborhood is undergoing another transformation. Everywhere you look, old buildings are being torn down and replaced with the shiny floor-to-ceiling windows and lucite details of new real estate developments. It will be interesting to see how things change in another four years.
