Home for dinner.

Going home for dinner just gets better and better. The food is plentiful, and my family is full of quirks and outrageous stories to share. On this particular occasion, my mom was eager to bring up some interesting anecdotes when she and David got into talking about my childhood. Although I’m fully aware of every memory she shared, there’s something a little more embarrassing when it’s told from a mom’s perspective.

A mix of homemade and store bought dishes. The ratio leans heavily toward the former.

Slow simmered bamboo and pork.

Fried rice cake with vegetables.

Pan fried trout with ginger and scallions.

Short ribs braised in brown sauce.

Beef with green peppers.

Sauteed A-Cai with garlic.

Sweet tomatoes with egg.

For dessert (well, as an appetizer, dessert and late night snack) my favorite break in the world: Cinnamon Chip from Great Harvest Bread Co.
