Kafe.

On one of our neighborhood walks, David and I discovered Kafe Berlin on First Hill near 9th Avenue and Cherry Street. The actual cafe is quite small, but its open windows, outdoor seating, and proximity to a quiet neighborhood (retirement neighborhood it seems), make it a good place to sit and stay. We have only had the coffee and a few pastries on our handful of visits. I think the pastries can be hit or miss (pictured is some sort of jam-crepe pastry which is definitely a hit), but the coffee is good. They also serve a lunch of sausages, sandwiches and salads if you happen to be there at the right time.

The location is attached to the German Heritage Society, so if you’re lucky, you get to see some pretty cute old people stroll by.
